Rheem 26 FAQs
Who is the Rheem 26 designed for and how much hot water does it produce?
The Rheem Metro Max 26 delivers 26 litres per minute at a 25°C temperature rise, making it the highest-capacity model in the Rheem continuous flow range stocked by Ember. It is designed for large families of 4+ people in homes with 3 or more bathrooms, or for households where multiple hot water outlets are frequently used at the same time, such as two showers plus a dishwasher or washing machine running simultaneously. It is also a practical choice for short-term rental properties and small commercial applications where demand is high.
What is Rheem's Q Factor technology on the Rheem 26?
Q Factor is Rheem’s proprietary hot water delivery technology designed to reduce the amount of cool water that flows through the tap while the system reaches operating temperature at start-up. It achieves this through improved burner modulation and intelligent water management inside the unit. In practical terms, Q Factor means you wait less time for hot water to arrive at the shower or tap, and you waste less water in the process. The Rheem Metro Max 26 includes Q Factor as standard.
Does the Rheem 26 come with a digital display?
Yes. The Rheem Metro 26 includes a digital OK status monitor on the unit that displays error codes when a fault is detected and shows the set hot water temperature when the unit is operating. This is a practical feature for quickly diagnosing issues and confirming the system is running at the correct temperature. The display is a standard feature across the Rheem Metro range and is not available on the Bosch models in Ember’s range.
How does the Rheem 26 warranty compare to other models?
The Rheem 26 carries a 12-year heat exchanger warranty and 3 years parts and labour on other components for domestic installations, the strongest warranty in Ember’s instant gas hot water range. All Rheem products installed by Ember from August 2022 onwards also receive Ember’s 2-year extended warranty on top of the manufacturer terms. This combination makes the Rheem 26 one of the best-warranted continuous flow systems available in Perth at its price point.
Can the Rheem 26 supply a remote temperature controller?
Yes. The Rheem 26 is compatible with Rheem’s optional EZ Link remote temperature controllers, which allow you to adjust the hot water set temperature from inside the home without going to the unit. This is a useful feature for families with young children, elderly residents, or anyone who prefers to adjust the temperature seasonally. The controllers are sold separately and installation is a straightforward add-on. Ask Ember at the time of booking if you would like to include a controller with your installation.
Is there a 60°C version of the Rheem 26 available?
Yes. Rheem produces the Rheem 26 in both a 50°C preset (model 876A26NF) and a 60°C preset (model 874A26). The 50°C model is appropriate for homes where the kitchen and laundry also receive water at 50°C or less. The 60°C model is used in homes where higher-temperature water is needed at the kitchen sink or dishwasher, in these cases a tempering valve is required on the bathroom and ensuite outlets to bring the temperature back down to 50°C before it reaches those points. Ember can advise which preset suits your home during the booking.
