This is a common questions we get asked when our customers are looking to install an instant gas hot water system. What is the difference between the Rinnai Infinity and the Rinnai B series?
The below comparison can be used for the Rinnai B16, Rinnai B20, Rinnai B26 vs Rinnai Infinity 16, Rinnai Infinity 20, Rinnai Infinity 26.
The short answer is…little to none, other than the price tag. The truth is the Infinity is a little more stylish and looks a little nicer. The Infinity has a small LED screen on the front of system which displays the current water temperature when the hot tap is on. The heat exchange warranty is another minor difference, the B series have a 10 year warranty while the infinity has a 12 years.
The internals of the hot water systems are basically the exact same apart from the digital screen on the infinity models. Both models have the same energy rating of 6.1 stars, same internal parts and same hot water output capacity based on the model B26 & Infinity 26 = 26 litres per minute.

Our Opinion… Stick with the Rinnai B series. The extra $300-$350 for the few extra features of the infinity is not worth the extra costs. We have installed 1000+ Rinnai B models compared to 50+ of the Infinity models and have had very little (less then 10) warranty calls on either of the Rinnai hot water systems.
